Background for the Restoring the Glory Project

We’ve known all along that lowering the Choir Loft and moving the Choir Rehearsal area to the main floor would require moving the Administrative Offices – we just didn’t know where.

After considering alternatives, we’ve concluded that the most cost-effective relocation would be to move the administrative offices to the lower floor, directly beneath where they are currently located. Not only is this the best choice from a cost standpoint, it better utilizes the Sanctuary Building. The building committee believes that it’s our charge to renovate the Sanctuary and not add additional square footage unless mandated. By keeping the administrative offices in the Sanctuary Building, we’re fulfilling that charge. The only square footage that will be added will be to enclose the ADA-mandated ramp from the sanctuary.

Within a month to six weeks, we hope to have plans, including a mock-up, and a total proposed cost to present to the congregation for approval in a Church Conference.

The capital campaign is tentatively scheduled for the first of next year, with construction starting immediately after the capital campaign.

Please continue to keep the work of the Building Committee in your prayers.
